7/20-7/26 Update
Good evening, Riptide!
To the families who have swam their final competition of the season: THANK YOU!! It has been an absolute pleasure to work with you and your children, and we hope they had a great experience this spring/summer. There was a TON of growth in the pool, and we hope you are as proud of your swimmer as we are.
We have a busy week on tap. I have linked the conference website which contains important information for swimmers, families, and coaches. Please review at some point this week, and we will touch on some of this information in our communications with you. We also have the Invite Meet on tap for a couple of our swimmers this Tuesday. Coach Carrie will be in contact with families who are attending that meet. As a reminder, practice times change slightly. They are as follows:
11 and Over: 7:15-8:30
10 and Under: 8:45-9:45
It is imperative that your children who are swimming conference attend as many practices as possible this week. Please reach out with any questions regarding Conference or the weekly schedule.
Here is what is on tap at practice this week:
7/20: Our only yardage day of the week. We will work a medium amount of yardage with higher rest intervals to help our swimmers enter into our taper week.
7/21: Swimmers will work some speed work with high rest intervals as well as work through starts/turns/finishes stations.
7/22: Swimmers will break into stroke-based groups and dig into some final stroke work/cleanup.
7/23: Swimmers will engage in a mix of stroke and freestyle yardage.
7/24: Very light practice, mixed in with plenty of opportunities for some fun.
A couple of pointers for folks who are swimming this week:
1) Rest isn't going to only be important in the pool. It is imperative your swimmer is getting adequate rest at night. To perform our best this weekend, we need to be rested.
2) Nutrition and hydration will be important for your swimmer this week as well. Please make sure your swimmer brings a water bottle to practice and to our meet this weekend!
We cannot wait to see how our swimmers perform this week after a long stretch of hard work and lots of yards. Please reach out with any questions as they come up.
