6/29-7/3 Update
Good evening, Riptide Families-
Thanks to all of our competitors on Wednesday evening! Night meets are a lot of fun, but they also present certain challenges. Despite having reasons not to compete at top level, our small but mighty crew kept the meet close through the end. We saw few best times, but there was a lot of competitiveness, grit, and celebration of great racing.
Looking ahead, we will not have a Saturday meet to cap off this week. Our next competition will take place on Tuesday, July 7. We will use this week to improve in the water to put our best efforts forward against Mount Horeb! Here's what you can expect this week:
6/29: We will set our yardage base for the week. A lot of yards to swim!
6/30: IM practice to work on and improve all four strokes for each swimmer. We will work a bit on transitions between strokes as well.
7/1: Speed day. High intervals, less yardage, and some block work.
7/2: Station work to improve the small details that make us faster.
7/3: We end the week with a fun, themed practice. Reminder: There is no evening practice on Fridays.
A couple of things to note:
1) Lineups for 7/7 are due on 7/5. Therefore, we need your swimmers declared for the meet no later than noon on 7/3. Building lineups takes time, so please allow us as much flexibility and time as possible heading into the holiday weekend.
2) After this week, it will feel like a sprint to the finish line of the season. While you are declaring for 7/7, please take a look at the remainder of the season and declare for as many of the remaining meets as you can.
We appreciate everyone's efforts, and we look forward to seeing your swimmers this week!
