Riptide Summer Practice begins May 23rd

Hello Riptide Families

A big welcome to our new and returning families. Thank you for signing up to be a part of the Riptide Swim Team. As we get ready to officially begin Riptide summer practices below is some information to share.

Team Website: As we move along through the season please be sure to visit the team website at www.barabooriptide.com for information and updates. We will post team announcements and other team information on the website.

Summer Practice: May 23rd is the first day of summer practice. Summer practice will begin at the Baraboo Indoor Pool and move to the Baraboo Outdoor Pool after school finishes for the year. Practice times and dates can be found on the team website. We understand that as we get the season started many of our swimmers may be involved in other school activities and may not be able to attend all practices.

After school finishes for the year and practice moves to the outdoor pool.  We would like to see all swimmers attending practice everyday but if there are schedule conflicts we ask that you attend a minimum of 3 practices a week. We offer morning and evening practice times. Swimmers may attend both morning and evening practices if they choose.

Registration Payments: If you have not yet paid all your fees for the season please do so by May 23rd. You may mail a check to the address below or drop off payment at practice with Coach Bryan.

Volunteer Commitment Checks: It takes over 50 volunteers to run a home swim meet and it is important that we get help from all of our Riptide families. if you have not written your $150 volunteer commitment check please take a moment to do so. You may mail or drop off the check at swim practice. You will be notified when you able to sign up for volunteer meet jobs. If you complete the volunteer requirements during the season your check will NOT be cashed. You will be able to sign up for meet jobs by signing into your Baraboo Riptide account.

Please make checks payable to Baraboo Riptide and mail registration payments and/or volunteer commitment checks to

Declaring your Swimmer: it is very important that Coach Bryan knows what swimmers will be attending the swim meets. We’d like to see all swimmers attend all swim meets but understand that may not be possible. Swimmers must attend at least 3 swim meets to be eligible to participate in the end of season conference meet. The first swim meet is June 11 at Spring Green. So please take a moment to declare your swimmer for swim meets. Instructions can be found on the Baraboo Riptide website.

Concession Donations: if you opted to make a concession donation you will be able to sign up for your donation soon. An announcement will be made when concession donations are open for sign up. You will be able to sign up for concession donations by signing into your Baraboo Riptide account.

Parent Meeting:

  • Did your swimmer participate in Spring Swim Clinic?
  • Are you new to the Riptide swim team?
  • Do you want to find out more information about the Riptide Swim Team summer season?

Please join us for our Riptide parent meeting. This will be a chance for parents to find out what summer swim is all about and ask any questions you may have.

The meeting will be held on June 1st at 5pm outside in front of the Baraboo Indoor Pool. Please consider attending to find out more information.

Again welcome to Baraboo Riptide. We are excited and looking forward to a fun season. We encourage you to get involved with the team. If you have questions please let us know and we will try to answer them the best we can.
